Is liquid food coloring good for coloring water?

I need to know this because i need to create colored water for my science fair project. If liquid food coloring isn't good or coloring water, than what is?Is liquid food coloring good for coloring water?
I have used liquid food colouring in water for my kids to play with. The red one made their hands a bit pink but apart from that it seemed to work really well. I suggest testing it, you dont need much food colouring and its quite cheap to buy.Is liquid food coloring good for coloring water?
Yes, works fine. I've used it to color water in homemade weather glasses (barometers). Some water-based liquid inks will also work, as will watercolor paints. But the food coloring will be cheapest and cleanest.

yeah, just use enough to get your water as dark as you want it! but if you want to they have water coloring tables for children that they put in the bathtub, and they work really well too. You can get them at walmart.
