I have blond hair and not sure of the colour of my skin. Usually foundation comes in fair or light, medium and dark. It ususally says medium is for the majority of the women population, but i think it would be too dark. I also think that the light will be too white on my face. Help me please!!! Thank youHow do i know what colour of foundation to wear.?
Go to a counter at a big department store and try some of the colors on your hand. And you will see what one matches your skin tone. If you are really stuck though, dont be afraid to ask one of the staff to help.. They are usually very kind and willing to help, And they know thier stuff! How do i know what colour of foundation to wear.?
Great question! The right shade of foundation is the most important thing you can do for your face. Try Mary Kay - you can try them on, return them if they don't work out (and you have used less than half the product).
The other thing you can do is go to Target and buy Physicians Formula powder Foundation. The powder foundations offer great coverage, but are much more forgiving as far as color goes. Sure, Bare Escentuals is a great product, but PF is way cheaper, more readily available, and just as good.
Here is what I did. I went to Target and found the other brand of powdered foundation. This brand had a little card attached to the wall that was clear, and had some little squares of color on it. You were supposed to hold the card up in front of your face, and the square that disappeared was your color. I selected that color of powder foundation, and took it over to the PF section, and chose the color that most closely matched the one in my hand. I also chose a finishing powder that has a very fine grain, that closely matched my complexion.
To apply the powder foundation, you will need a VERY good brush.
Put some of the powder on the brush, and work it into the brush by twirling it around in the cap. Tap the brush to remove any excess, then swirl it all over your face. You can do several layers in areas you would like to cover (for me it is my dark circles around my eyes). When you are done, do the same with the finishing powder. It is a very light, natural looking foundation.
go to a good makeup store like sephora, they can help you pick out the right shades of foundation, concealer, the works!!!
I've struggled with it forever. The best way to find the right foundation color, is to go to a cosmetic counter like Clinique or Estee Lauder, or into a Merle Norman, and have a cosmetic consulation w/someone there and they can help find the right shade. And if you dont feel like spending that kind of money for foundation there, you can always go find that same shade at a drug store or something.
But I've given up on foundation because of all that fuss, and just started wearing Phsyicians Formula loose covering powder. It's great. Just find a color close to your skin tone, and if it's too light, add a little bit of a bronzer, if it's too dark, add a little bit of a lighter shade powder. Any questions about anything, message me.
go to mac they have loads of shades and they will help you choose the right shade.
I know that buying foundation can be tricky and all too often you have to buy a whole bottle of something to find out how it actually looks on you. How do you feel about buying from Avon? That way an actual person comes to YOU at no extra charge and can help you decide which color works best and the reps can get samples of everything for you so you can try out their products first. Just go to avon.com and choose a representative that is near you.
