I am very pale and have to get the palest foundation colours. After I've applied my foundation it looks fine and matches my natural skin colour, but 30 minutes later it turns at least a shade darker. I know it's not cheap makeup that does this because I've tried the better premium brands too. Why does it change colour and do any of you have this problem? Why does foundation change colour on your face?
Causes of your foundation oxidizing:
- More acidic skin.
- A pink foundation over a yellow undertone skin color.
- Foundation components reacting to the sebum in our skin.
- Oils in our skin or moisturizer intensifying the color of the pigments.
There are a few ways to counteract this:
- Use a silicone based primer
- Experiment with different foundations to find one that won't oxidize with your skin
- Get one to two shades higher than normal with your current foundation so that once it oxidizes, it will match your skin color
I personally use Dior Forever Extreme Wear foundation with combination oily/dry skin. I've never had ANY problems with it changing hue with me, and the SPF is fairly low meaning the Titanium Dioxide content would be minimal (that means that in photos your face won't turn stark white--it's the Titanium Dioxide that reflects the light and makes your face look lighter which is common in brands like M.A.C. powder/foundations).

Finding the right foundation can be tricky--I recommend going to Sephora and trying out different kinds--they will gladly offer you a sample for you to try out.Why does foundation change colour on your face?
What about trying a lighter powder? The rimmell one is really good, and it looks really nice aslong as you dont put too much on. Its about 拢3.50 or along that price range from most shops that sell makeup, i dont have this problem with foundation but i've found that the best foundation i have ever had is the virgin vie sheer perfection, SPFI5 tinted moisturiser, it looks really natural and stays on for a long time, and it never changes colour on my face. Hope i have been of some help, good luck! xx
You could try using the foundation you already have, %26amp; then a loose powder over it.
This will set it %26amp; it will last forever :)
you can also use a primer before you put on your foundation.
Brands like m.a.c. are probably your best bet...
they're expensive but have excellent coverage, AND they last a long time, so you may actually end up saving some money.
They are oil based though...
I'm not exactly sure if this was the answer you were looking for, I hope it helps a little though :)
I apply a foundation and then use a whiter face powder over the top, cause I also have a problem of being really pale and having all foundations look too dark. Channel has a really pale foundation which I love, though it is expensive!
The weather and the oils on ur face can change the color of the makeup.
I have the same problem. I have no idea why though.
Because of the oils in our skin.
it may be the natural oils in your skin r if you are putting powder on top
