I have pale skin and everytime I think I have the right colour it turns my face orange. Do you know any good brands or types I can look for to make sure it blends in well? What about concealer? Is it the same?
BTW I never overdo it I wear next to no makeup and would prefer to look natural than a barbie doll. Makeup rules are extremely strict at my school as well. How do you choose the correct colour foundation?
I usually just bring a friend with me, and buy whatever is closest :) lol.
MAC is really good, or Trublend mousse is nice too, my favorite.
I wouldn't suggest using concealer and foundation, because they aren't exactly good for your skin, so using them together might not be the best. How do you choose the correct colour foundation?
If your problem is that the foundation turns orange during the day, it's because your foundation is oxidizing. Just get a primer to put on before your foundation so the foundation won't react with your skin and turn orange. If the problem is just that you can't find any foundation light enough for you, I think L'oreal's True Match has a pretty light color or you could try going to a department store that sells a brand Prescriptives. They custom design a foundation for you. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's always an option.
And concealer and foundation are different. Foundation is for all over the face to even out your skin tone and can come in varying degrees of coverage (from sheer to full) and concealer only comes in full coverage because it's mostly used for covering up small spots. Good luck!
I agree with JC R.
Go to MAC. They're in every Nordstrom at every mall. I've been using MAC for about 10 years %26amp; the one thing I really love about it is the color. They have warm %26amp; cool tones in various shades. What I also like is that they have such a good selection of coverages. If you look at their website the foundations will say either light, medium, or buildable coverage. If you're not really into a lot of makeup, I would suggest trying the tinted moisturizer.
I can't buy foundations at a drug store. The lighting is hideous even if you can manage to sample it on your hand %26amp; they ALWAYS make me look orange. I end up mixing 2 different foundations just to get my color. Plus there not THAT much cheaper. Some of them are like $15 or $20. MAC foundations are around $24-$26. I'd rather pay for quality %26amp; once you know what products you like you can order online. They always send out emails with free shipping.

I as well have very pale skin. It is soooo difficult to find the correct makeup, because i have looked orange as well.... so embarrassing.
anyway, every season (or every time i run out) i go and get a new foundation. I like using powder better because i find that it looks more natural.
try going to your nearest make up counter- clinique, lancome, mac, all of those are quite helpful, and have them help you with your dilemma!
Hope i helped!!!!!! and good luck!!!!!
i used to be extremely fair, and maybelline dream matte mousse is the only makeup pale enough for me. its great stuff and its light as air. plus its whipped and feels really cool haha.
at walgreens you can buy a shade you think might work and if it doesnt work you can just return it. (at least they accepted mine)
First, use moisturizer for your skin, then apply the foundation.
To choose the correct foundation for your skin, choose one tone darker than your face skin .
Do not choose one tone lighter, because it will look weird.
look at your natural skin tone without any makeup and go one shade darker than it. if you look orange maybe try a different brand i use covergirl trublend
KRYOLAN MAKEUP
IS THE BEST
KRYOLAN BAND , IS 65 YEARS OLD +
well dont use too dark but not too light maybe mix a color
Go to your nearest MAC counter and ask them. Those girls are great at helping you find a great shade that matches well :o)
