Can washing hair in washing up liquid fade colour?

my hairs gone too dark from using a semi-permanent dye. ive heared by using washing up liquid on your hair will make it dry but fade the colour. anyone tried this and if so what happened?Can washing hair in washing up liquid fade colour?
yes it can , it will strip some of the colour out ..just make sure u use lots of conditioner afterwards tho as it will dry your hair out ...Can washing hair in washing up liquid fade colour?
I don't know about washing up liquid, but I use a really cheap shampoo to wash out my hair colour like Asda's own. You may be able to buy a pre-treatment shampoo which is designed to washout residue and previous hair treatments from your hair.
ive heard it can be good for your hair, depends on hair type i spose, if you have quite dry hair i would say no, but if it is oily then i think it would be fine, just try it once, your soon find out, good luck
If you mean soap to wash the dishes in (I'm Canadian, so i have no idea what ';washing up liquid'; is, sorry), then yeah, it will fade the colour because it is a very abrasive soap, meant to clean the grease off pots and pans. However, it does dry your hair out, a lot. You can use it, just use a little, and be sure to use a really good conditioner immediately after and leave it in for a few minutes before you rinse the conditioner out. Don't do this too often: if the colour doesn't fade immediately, only use it once every two weeks or so: you could end up doing more damage than the dye did. Also, be sure to use a regular shampoo, not one meant for colour-treated hair, as this type will retain colour, and not fade it like you want.
Washing up liquid can very harsh on your skin - I would advise caution in the use of it on your head. Your scalp is a lot more sensitive than your hands.
Don't think so, I believed I might have done it in the past in an emergency, but nothing happened, but as I never coloured my hair, I can't help you with the rest of your question.





Why don't you use a highlighter, to lighten the colour, if in doubt ask an hairdresser.
dont - its not made for hair and will damage it long term
It can but it isn't good for the condition of your hair. The best things I have found is head and sholders or original vosine.
try using a medicated shampoo like vosene it fades the colour i tried it and it worked for me
I am not sure about fading the colour but I don't think it's a very good idea, washing up liquid will just dry out your hair as it has no moisturising ingredients.
washing up liquid is not a good idea. it is very abrasive and will leave your hair dry.
It will fade the color a bit, BUT it will also dry your hair out considerably! I mean DRY-DRY-DRY! Think about what dish detergent is supposed to do ';DAWN takes grease out of your way'; - it strips all of the oils and fats from the hair shaft, leaving you with a brittle dried out strand that is extremely prone to breakage.





I know from experience. Tried it, and hated the results.





And don't listen to the person who said highlight your hair... double processing will lead to dry hair and breakage also... the highlighted strands will break, leaving you with half the hair, and a still too dark color.





Since the color is semi-permanent, the color will fade more and more the more often you wash it. I would wash every day or twice a day, and CONDITION the heck out of it and it will fade on its own.

ive heard that if u wash your hair in washing powder and fabric conditioner that helps!!!
