I need to bake a rainbow cake using gel food colouring, but cant find it anywhere other than buying online which will take to long. Would liquid food colouring be the same as using gel food colouring? Or is there something I can ad to itto make it more gel like? Help please!! XCan i use liquid food colouring instead of gel?
For most purposes liquid food colouring can be used as a substitute for gel colouring.
However gel colouring gives a much stronger colour than liquid. Generally, even adding a lot of extra liquid dye will not result in truly vibrant colours. If you don't mind your rainbow being a bit pastel there's no reason not to use the liquid.
Keep in mind that liquid dyes will thin batter/ frosting if you use enough of them, so remove the same quantity of liquid from the recipe. (this is usually more important in frostings where a little liquid makes a big difference)Can i use liquid food colouring instead of gel?
you can use food coloring but with it you need to add a gel with it. It located in any grocery store and on the bottle it says gel. Clear white looks just like water but thicker. Dont use just food coloring or the whole cake will be that one messy color
You can use the Wilton colors which you can buy at Walmart, Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
This is what i looked up for you.UKF
